2011 Annual Meeting Recap

The atmosphere at MOCA’s annual meeting was full of hope and encouragement. Board members, research grant recipients, survivors, family members and volunteers all gathered to review 2010 accomplishments, elect board members and hear from the 2011 research grantees.

The evening began with shared sense of promise with new and old friends socializing with one another. After reviewing 2010 accomplishments, high anticipation and expectation filled the air for this coming year.

MOCA announced that research grants for 2011 had been increased by 21% over 2010 amounts. A total of 4 research projects were selected for funding this year –all of them presented in laymen’s terms for the audience. After the research grant recipients shared their research projects there was an even greater sense of optimism for the future.

The evening ended with high spirits and a deeper connection to MOCA by the members. We thank all that joined us and hope that you will be able to join us next year at the 2012 Annual Meeting next in May.
