Legislative Advocacy

MOCA is grounded in first-hand knowledge about the issues around ovarian cancer. Communicating with public officials and advocating for policy changes on behalf of ovarian cancer survivors and women everywhere is part of our mission.

Minnesota Advocacy and Legislation

MOCA works with the Minnesota branch of the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN), the nation’s leading cancer advocacy organization, to make cancer issues a priority for state policy makers. We encourage you to connect with ACS CAN’s Minnesota Action Center to find your legislator and learn about current advocacy efforts in Minnesota and nationally.

National Advocacy and Legislation

On a national level, MOCA is a partner member of the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance (OCNA), which gives us a presence in Washington, D.C., and amplifies our voice to advocate for research funding and raise awareness about the symptoms and risks of ovarian cancer at the federal level. Our coordinated efforts have changed the way the medical establishment, the media, and policy leaders think about ovarian cancer.

To view OCNA’s policy positions and learn how you can become involved in federal advocacy efforts, please visit the Take Action page on the OCNA website. To stay informed of national advocacy efforts and legislation, sign up for the Ovarian Cancer Action Network email newsletter.

Survivor Stories

I want to encourage other survivors to find inner tools that can create new possibilities for themselves despite the disease.

Ovarian cancer survivors share their stories, because no one should have to face this disease alone.
