Oncology Nursing Scholarship
The Anita and Walter Lubov Fund provides funding for nurses to attend educational conferences.
This funding is made available through MOCA with generous support from the family of Anita Lubov, an oncology nurse in Ohio who died from ovarian cancer in 1999. Her daughter, Jan Arnold, explained that her mother “saw value in nursing education, and to honor her memory in this way is most fitting.”
Oncology nurses currently practicing in Minnesota can apply for support to attend conferences that will help them:
- Improve their care of women with ovarian cancer
- Increase their knowledge of ovarian cancer
- Enable them to educate others about ovarian cancer
The funding can be used to support travel, conference fees, lodging and per diem. It is not meant to supplant funding available from employers or other sources.
Survivors: Please encourage your oncology nurses to apply for this scholarship.
Most recipients hear about the scholarship from MOCA members who encourage them to apply. Up to $3,000 is available each year, and multiple scholarships can be awarded. This opportunity is especially important as more Minnesota hospitals cut back on their professional development budgets.
Oncology nurses: Applications are due October 15.
To apply for the award, submit your completed application to the MOCA office.
