7.22.15 Each year, MOCA funds more research, provides more support and raises more awareness thanks to our strong network of volunteers who do so much for MOCA.
As a way to thank our current volunteers – and encourage new MOCA supporters to volunteer with our events and activities – MOCA is hosting a Volunteer Fair on Thursday, August 13.
Held at Poor Richard’s Commonhouse in Bloomington, Minn. from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m., this free event is a great way to connect with MOCA, ask questions, meet MOCA staff and learn about our available volunteer opportunities. Free appetizers and drink specials will be available.
There are so many ways to volunteer with MOCA!
- Spread symptom awareness as a health fair volunteer!
- Help with set-up, registration, day-of duties and more at our many fundraising events, including HOM Teal Strides for Ovarian Cancer, Spin it Teal and our Gala and Golf event.
- Provide your expertise at the MOCA office as an office volunteer.
- Or – let us know what your skills are – and we’ll find a great fit to use them to help fight ovarian cancer.
Our volunteers are a critical part of MOCA. For example, our annual HOM Teal Strides for Ovarian Cancer event requires the help of 200+ volunteers to plan and execute the event, which ensures that MOCA raises the most money to go towards research, education and programming The work of our many committed volunteers puts us one step closer to finding better treatment and an early detection test for ovarian cancer.
“We accomplish so much because of our strong network of volunteers. The gift of time and talent from our volunteers means we can maximize the fundraising of our events – and we love finding ways to match up our volunteers to their interest so they feel they can do the most for MOCA,” said Lauren Donna, MOCA events manager.
