7.20.16 We’re gearing up to make HOM Teal Strides this September – and we’re excited for you to join us!

Our 17th annual HOM Teal Strides for Ovarian Cancer takes place on Saturday, September 10th. Held at Rosland Park in Edina, it’s MOCA’s largest annual fundraiser and community-building event, where we come together to make strides for ovarian cancer research, support and programming.

When you register before August 1st you’ll snag early bird rates, so we encourage you to register soon and save.

As a participant, you have the opportunity to run as an individual, join a team or captain your own team. Every dollar you raise helps increase awareness and fund cancer research and programs. Prizes are awarded for the largest team and the top fundraisers.

NEW this year, MOCA has an incentive for fundraisers – our HOM Teal Strides Inspiration signs. Each fundraiser who raises $1,000+ by August 26 will get the opportunity to develop a sign that MOCA will post along the course.

Teams are already forming and captains are sharing fundraising ideas! Each week, we’ll be sharing a photo and story of a HOM Teal Strides fundraise to inspire others.

MOCA’s own staffer Kirstie Kimball is planning her own fundraiser in memory of her mother, who died from ovarian cancer. Kirstie’s team – “BRCAn’t Stop Us” already has friends and family on board with her!

“When I was seventeen, my mother passed away from ovarian cancer,” said Kirstie. “I want to help individuals like me turn grief into action and connect with other daughters who are walking or running in their fierce mother’s memory. I fundraise this year in honor of my mother’s life and in celebration of my own life as a BRCA positive woman.”

Do you want to tell us why you make HOM Teal Strides with us to inspire others? Share your quotes and photos at info@mnovarian.org and we’ll share them on our HOM Teal Strides Facebook event page.
