BLOG: Volunteer at MOCA – and make a huge difference!

10.12.16 Looking for a meaningful activity that’s both fun and helpful to a great cause? MOCA is looking for more volunteers! We’d be honored if you’d donate your time to us—you’ll make a big impact on promoting awareness of ovarian cancer.

There is an immediate need for two types of MOCA volunteers:

  •  Assembly Super-Heroes—We have an ongoing need to assemble awareness materials—teal ribbon pins with symptom cards and teal shoelace packets. MOCA shares these items with our community to help spread the word about ovarian cancer. If you have a few hours (or even 30 minutes) of spare time, and you’d like a relaxing activity to do, let us know! We can arrange a time for you (and your friends!) to come to MOCA and work on this project.
  • MOCA Ambassadors—MOCA often has the opportunity to partake in various tabling events—some are health fairs, while others are workplace giving campaign events. We are looking for more people to serve as “MOCA Ambassadors” to promote MOCA at these tabling events (talk about what we do and the importance of MOCA’s mission). These events happen throughout the year, mostly on weekdays, and we usually have at least a few weeks of notice. If you’re interested, let us know and we’ll give you more info—a strong passion for MOCA’s mission is required!

Interested in these opportunities? Have questions or want more details? We’d love to hear from you! Contact Julia Hanson, Development Manager, at jhanson@mnovarian.org or call 612-824-1297.
