Travel to Camp Mak-A-Dream

Jodie’s Fund

MOCA has funds available to support travel costs to and from the Ovarian Retreat & Women’s Cancer Retreat at Camp Mak-A-Dream outside of Missoula, Montana. Camp Mak-A-Dream (www.campdream.org) is designed to give survivors the chance to connect with others, relax, recharge and participate in outdoor activities in the beautiful Big Sky Country of Montana.

Although the camp is free, participants must pay travel costs to and from Missoula, Montana. MOCA member and recipient of a MOCA Dream Award, Jodie Rychwalski, enjoyed Camp Mak-A-Dream retreats twice. When Jodie passed away, she and her family entrusted MOCA with a fund dedicated to defray the costs of travel to Camp Mak-A-Dream in order to make the experience more accessible.

Applications for Jodie’s Fund are open to women who have been accepted for the Ovarian Cancer Retreat or the Women’s Cancer Retreat and are either residents of Minnesota or living in the surrounding state and receiving treatment in Minnesota. Applicants must be first-time attendees at Camp Mak-A-Dream.

Through MOCA, Jodie’s Fund is able to provide a maximum of $500 for round-trip travel to an accepted applicant. Camp Mak-A-Dream provides free transportation between the Missoula airport and camp.

Applicants must first apply to Camp Mak-A-Dream.

Check back to this page in early 2024 for details on the Spring Ovarian Cancer Retreat and information on the application process.
