Travel to Camp Mak-A-Dream
MOCA has funds available to support travel costs to and from the Ovarian Cancer Survivors’ Retreat at Camp Mak-A-Dream outside of Missoula, Montana.
Camp Mak-A-Dream is designed to give survivors the chance to connect with others, relax, recharge and participate in outdoor activities in the Big Sky Country of Montana.
Although the camp is free, participants must pay travel costs to and from Missoula, Montana. A former recipient of a MOCA Dream Award, Jodie Rychwalski enjoyed Camp Mak-A-Dream retreats twice. When Jodie passed away, she and her family entrusted MOCA with a fund dedicated to defraying the costs of travel to Camp Mak-A-Dream in order to make the experience more accessible.
Applications for Jodie’s Fund are open to women who are either residents of Minnesota or living in the surrounding state and receiving treatment in Minnesota. Applicants must also be first-time attendees at Camp Mak-A-Dream.
Through MOCA, Jodie’s Fund is able to provide a maximum of $500 for round trip travel to an accepted applicant. Camp Mak-A-Dream provides free transportation between the Missoula airport and camp.
Check back in late spring 2020 for details on the application period for the 2020 Jodie’s Fund awards.
