In Events, Survivors

In this month’s Teal Talk, MOCA Community Support Program Manager Stefanie Gliniany is sharing special opportunities for survivors at MOCA’s HOM Teal Strides for Ovarian Cancer!

It’s one of my favorite days of the year- HOM Teal Strides for Ovarian Cancer. Ovarian, fallopian, and primary peritoneal cancer survivors are the guests of honor at this event. If you have never attended HOM Teal Strides—or maybe you haven’t joined us in a few years, I’d like to share a bit about what to expect and why you should join us!

Did you know we’ll be setting up a special spot just for survivors? Please stop by and visit our Survivor Tent. Here, you’ll have the chance to meet other survivors and learn more about the resources and support groups MOCA offers. Stop by to connect with others and create your own survivor pin that you can personalize to include the number of months or years you’ve been a survivor! You’ll also want to pick up a Survivor Goody Bag, which includes a number of giveaway items.

At HOM Teal Strides, you’ll have another opportunity to connect with our teal sisterhood by taking part in our annual Survivor Photo. This takes place at 9:15 a.m. This photo always reflects such strength and hope. It is so inspiring to see the number of survivors taking part in the photo, grow each year!

After the Survivor Photo is taken, we’ll move right into our event program. You’ll hear inspiring stories from our HOM Teal Strides teams and hear from some of Minnesota’s gynecologic oncologists.

I hope you can register to join us on Saturday, September 10 at Rosland Park in Edina. You don’t need to walk or run- I just hope you decide to be here to share in this fun and inspiring morning! Sign up here, today.
