Annie Oakes joined the MOCA staff in May 2017. Annie started her journey with MOCA back in 2003 as her mom was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and made it to one Silent No More walk before passing. Annie manages the events that MOCA hosts: the Black, White & Teal Gala, Molly Cade Scramble, HOM Teal Strides Walk/Run, Spin it Teal and two Duluth events, as well as those that put on by the community to benefit MOCA.
Annie has a B.A. from Gustavus Adolphus College. Her time at Gustavus fueled her passion to work with non-profit organizations to make a difference and her love of travel. She comes to MOCA after 11 years of event planning at Children’s Minnesota, and three years of experience at Friends of the Orphans (now NPH USA). Annie also runs the five nurseries at her church, Hope Community Church.
In her free time, Annie enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, crafting and being outdoors.
