Carolyn Jahr, DMSc, PA-C, is a practicing Physician Assistant and founding faculty member of the PA Medicine Program at The College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota. Carolyn enjoys teaching future medical providers and serving patients in the Northland. She joined the MOCA Board of Directors in 2022.
Carolyn’s mother, Lise, was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2015. As her mother’s primary caregiver, Carolyn saw the enormity of the ovarian cancer experience. Before Lise passed away in 2016, she had many conversations with Carolyn about ways to honor her memory. It was Lise’s wish for Carolyn to use her platform as an educator and help ensure medical providers learn the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer so they could diagnose the disease earlier. In 2017, Carolyn helped set up MOCA’s Survivors Teaching Students® program, in partnership with OCRA, at The College of St. Scholastica.
In addition to her work with MOCA’s STS® program, Carolyn is a member of our Light Duluth Teal Gala planning committee. She also volunteers at MOCA events and health fairs to help raise awareness. Carolyn lives in Carlton, Minnesota with her husband, Justin, and their two daughters.
