Ginger is a CPA from Dallas, Texas, and spent most of her career with a large international law firm. She was diagnosed with Low-Grade Ovarian Cancer stage 3 in 2003, shortly after her 50th birthday when her daughter was starting her Junior year of high school. After a 2nd recurrence and completing a clinical trial at MD Anderson in 2011, she retired, and in 2015 decided to move to Minnesota to be closer to her daughter. She enjoys the Twin Cities’ art museums, theaters, lakes and parks, and people.
Shortly after arriving in the Twin Cities, Ginger started looking at options for local care and support in Minnesota. Her first step, after some internet searching, was to participate in the HOM Teal Strides event, where she became more familiar with MOCA. She took advantage of the support, connections and education opportunities provided by MOCA, and was very interested in the research information and funding process. She served on the Finance Committee in 2017 and joined the Board as Treasurer in 2018. Ginger also currently serves on the Finance Committee of the Playwrights’ Center.
She continues active cancer treatment with MD Anderson and Minnesota Oncology.
