Join youth and adult sports teams and Tie It Teal with the Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance (MOCA) this September! Lace up with teal shoelaces to help raise ovarian cancer awareness in your community. It’s a simple and fun way for athletes to make a difference during Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month.
MOCA is providing a limited number of FREE shoelaces to interested sports teams.
Why is raising awareness for ovarian cancer incredibly important?
- Ovarian cancer is the deadliest of all gynecologic cancers
- There is NO reliable screening test for ovarian cancer
- Ovarian cancer impacts women of all ages and ethnicities
- Nearly 20,000 women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer in the U.S. each year, and sadly—nearly 13,000 will lose their lives to this disease.
By taking part in MOCA’s Tie It Teal campaign, you can help share information with young people and their families about symptoms of ovarian cancer—and potentially save lives.
MOCA will provide you with the laces, free of charge. We only ask that your team commits to wearing the laces throughout the month of September.
Want to go the extra mile for #ovariancancerawareness? Take photos of your team wearing the laces and share on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram with #TieItTeal. Be sure to tag “Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance” to help us spread the word!
