MOCA is a statewide nonprofit, founded in 1999, dedicated to supporting those impacted by ovarian cancer, educating the public and health care community, raising awareness and funding research to change the future of the disease.

The Development Associate has significant interaction with the community MOCA serves.  It is critical that this position represent MOCA professionally and with an emphasis on MOCA’s mission, programs, services, events and support to those impacted by ovarian cancer.

Key Responsibilities

The Development Associate is responsible for MOCA’s database, gift processing and donor communications in addition to general office management tasks.

  • Answer phones and respond to general inquiries about MOCA.
  • Enter gifts and maintain donor records.
  • Prepare thank you letters and acknowledgements in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Continuously improve MOCA’s data quality and integrity.
  • Prepare database reports and event related reports as needed by MOCA staff.
  • Work with MOCA staff to meet database needs and ongoing education.
  • Attend software systems webinars and user groups to stay current with software use.
  • Provide technical support for office systems including computers, internet, phones, voicemail, e-mail, postal, fax, and copy systems.
  • Manage deliveries, outgoing mail and related postage.
  • Oversee purchase and maintenance of all office supplies.
  • Manage inventory control for MOCA merchandise and outreach and awareness materials, such as pins, T-shirts and cards.
  • Manage the production of board and staff handbooks and board and staff contact lists.
  • Approve bills for payment by Finance Manager.

Qualifications

  • A. degree strongly preferred.
  • Two + years of experience in database management, donor relations and/or office administration.
  • Experience with database or CRM systems required, Experience with Bloomerang, Qgiv, OneCause desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to use independent judgement on a regular basis to ensure data is accurately entered and maintained.
  • Detail oriented.

Position is .75 FTE salaried and reports directly to the Business Manager.

Salary range is $36,000-$39,000 DOQ for 30 hours/week.
